 My Pune, clean Pune Green Pune ....

I some times wonder is it really clean and green.  This thought has been bothering for a long time. Today while on the walk this again stuck strongly.

Off late Pune  has been changing and lot of innovative initiatives are on to make the city smarter and more smarter. As a part of this over 60% areas have been made up, cosmetic changes are taking place to beautify them. On a western pattern architecturally aesthetic sit out sheds are created. I always used to think what would be the thought behind it, by the time I  have been still lost in thoughts, the modern Laila Majnus have occupied them, not only LMs but also Krishna, Sudama and their mates have also started  occupying it fully. 

The sit outs are like the beach side sitting wherein the parrots n sparrows holding closer to each others spend the time outs. Even the elderly ones who have difficulty to walk can rest for some time.  Till the time this it was ok, but sooner have been seeing food packets, soft drinks, ice cream cups , pizza boxes and what not.  They all sit together and consume this as if it's either restaurant or their homes. Restaurants have paid servants to clean but here no one is there. Post enjoying the happy moments they leave the wastes there as is. Clean Pune.  

Then youngsters have found this as a celebration point and get cakes for all their celebrations and play cake holi. Drop the cake pieces, used soft drinks bottles with cake boxes there. Green Pune.

Earlier all of these have had beautiful lights but off late I don't see them and then these have become dark places in evening and  nights to perform some dark. Though in this historically created, culturally powered and wherein discipline and manners are the great strength , but this all has gone in vein and the things are that even can't happen in private rooms are happening in full bright day light. So with lights off this is a great treat. I am talking beyond smoking.

On the entire walking track of over 6 to 8 kms , everywhere the side corners are full with garbage of all types and they remain ay places for months or years together.  Forget about slums n other areas, even the high class societies there is no change seen in this. 

Why government has to bring in strict penal clauses for this , we are all responsible citizens of the city and country . The highest frustrating point here is that in this city, every other family either stayed back in other developed countries or their generations are still there, no one is able to stop this. The generations that are on the roads on day and nights demonstrate this high indiscipline , they all belong to those good families.  Over freedom has been bothering for parents who actually don't like all of this, but I think they are all helpless. This is not at all a blame game, but an observation. The cigarette butts are lying everywhere. Freedom of thoughts does not mean live the life the way you wish and don't care for their own life, parents, social responsibility and environment. 

Not to list everyone but yes there are so many groups of all age groups and genders are taking care of this by lifting the scrap on their walks, trekking on forts, giving water to plants. Wish everyone to be o. This side and contribute to ...My Pune Clean Pune ..Green Pune ...
